THE PLATEAU

Rooted in Nature. Growing Community. Regenerating the Future.

Nestled in the heart of Rockleigh, on Peramangk Country, South Australia, The Plateau is a 100-acre off-grid eco-haven that brings people back to the land, back to culture, and back to community. Experience a new way of living, where sustainability, healing, and culture guide everything we do.

At The Plateau, we are building a living example of sustainability, innovation, and cultural connection. Through a circular economy model, we bring together regenerative agriculture, wildlife conservation, permaculture design, and the arts to create lasting impact. Our focus is on supporting drought-affected rural communities and strengthening regional Indigenous communities, fostering resilience, creativity, and care for Country.

Community

The Plateau is built on a foundation of shared purpose, bringing together people from all walks of life to collaborate, learn, and grow in harmony with the land.

Regeneration

We focus on restoring ecosystems and reviving Country through native planting, organic farming, and wildlife rehabilitation that breathes life back into the land.

Sustainability

We champion sustainability through hands-on recycling initiatives, transforming waste like batteries, metal, glass, and organics into resources that support regeneration, wildlife care, and community wellbeing.

Connection

Our space fosters deep connection to nature, to culture, and to one another, encouraging meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging.

Sanctuary

The Plateau offers a peaceful refuge for both people and wildlife, where healing, safety, and care are at the heart of everything we do.

Integration

Our farm systems are designed to work in harmony, chickens play a vital role in soil health, pest control, and egg production, seamlessly linking food, regeneration, and ethical land care.

WHO WE ARE

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Jarrod Manuel brings a wealth of experience in community leadership and regional development to The Plateau. His career spans local government roles and serving as Chief Operating Officer for Ngarrindjeri Ruwe Empowered Communities (NREC). Growing up surrounded by family farms in South Australia's mid-north and the Adelaide Hills, Jarrod developed a deep connection to the land and rural life from an early age. With a family history rooted in social advocacy and rural community development, he carries forward a strong commitment to positive change.

Jarrod is passionate about reimagining the future of farming through sustainable practices and innovation.
