ABOUT US
The Plateau is a one-of-a-kind eco-sanctuary and social enterprise located on 100 acres of off-grid land in the Adelaide Hills. We exist to regenerate the land, restore connection to Country, and demonstrate what’s possible when people and nature thrive together.
This is a place where circular systems come to life—from ethical farming practices and native revegetation, to wildlife rehabilitation and community-powered recycling. We’re building more than a farm—we’re building a living, breathing model of sustainability and care.
Rooted in strong partnerships with local Indigenous groups, The Plateau honours traditional knowledge while embracing regenerative practices that heal both land and spirit. Our farm is home to a permaculture system where chickens play an active role in soil regeneration, pest control, and egg production. Organic market gardening, an onsite nursery, and off-grid infrastructure work together to support a self-sustaining lifestyle that’s good for the earth and future generations.
More than a destination, The Plateau is a movement. A place to learn, reset, and reconnect—with nature, with community, and with a deeper sense of purpose.
OUR VAULES
Community
We bring people together to learn, grow, and support one another—building a strong, inclusive network rooted in care and shared purpose.
Regeneration
From native revegetation to organic food production, we focus on restoring life to the land and healing Country in partnership with local Indigenous knowledge holders.
Connection
The Plateau fosters meaningful relationships—between people, place, and culture—through immersive experiences and intentional living.
Sanctuary
We offer a safe, nurturing space for both humans and wildlife. It’s a place to heal, breathe, and find peace in nature.
Sustainability
Recycling is central to our work—we repurpose batteries, glass, metal, and organics to create closed-loop systems that support wildlife, food production, and community health.
Integration
Our farm systems work in harmony—chickens nourish the soil, control pests, and provide fresh eggs, demonstrating how animals, plants, and people can thrive together.
